Hiking at Le Morne Brabant
Discover the magnificent beauty of the south-west of Mauritius. The hike to Le Morne Brabant, situated on the peninsula of Le Morne is a total immersion in the wildest and most preserved nature. Famous for its history, Le Morne Brabant is known for the maroon slaves that sought refuge in the mountain before committing suicide as a way to freedom. The hike to the summit of 556 meters (1,824 ft.) above sea lasts between 3-4 hours. The mountain is home to many endemic species and its summit gives panoramic views on the west and south west lagoons of the island.
